About this Site
This is just my place to talk about whatever is interesting to me at the time. It could be exciting. It could be really boring. I'll let you decide for yourself.
Most of my posts will likely be about computers and technology news, but I make no promises.
About Me
History
My name is Andrew Ensley. I was born in Grand Rapids, MI, where I lived until my family moved to Mississippi when I was 12. About three years later, we moved to Niceville, FL. I moved away to Pensacola to go to UWF and obtain a B.S. in Computer Information Systems. I have since suspended studies for two reasons:
- I got a full time job doing exactly what I wanted to do after graduation.
- I got married. =)
Work
I work for a company where I am a web developer, software developer, and network/system administrator. I am currently managing a project with over 100,000 lines of code. I also help out with the music ministry at a few local churches.
Music
I love music of all kinds (well, mostly) and avidly pursue the expansion of my musical tastes/skills. I have played piano since I was 5, and it is still my favorite instrument to play. I also play drums as well as most miscellaneous percussion instruments (my favorite is the djembe). I play bass guitar in the band Out of Darkness and aspire to play the acoustic guitar one day, too. My wife is helping me to become a better dancer, but I really lack the coordination to do anything close to what most people would call "dancing."
Sports
I love soccer. Soccer is the best sport on the face of the planet. I played on 3 different championship teams during my middle school/high school years in a very competitive parks and recreation league. I will take any chance to play with some friends. Beyond that, I like to play racquetball, disc golf, target-shoot, and run the occasional 5k.
Computers
I put this one last because I try not to let my area of work dominate my hobbies. However, there's no denying I love to work with computers. I build and test software, hardware, and services for fun. Yup. I'm a nerd.
